Many of us talk about how global warming is causing climatic changes to the earth and in return how does it affect us. But I guess not all us understand how it’s going to affect our lives in the near future. It’s still not too late to save our planet and secure the future of the forth coming generation. If we change a couple of our habits we might be able to save our planet.
Global warming is the increase in the average temperature of the Earth’s near-surface air and oceans in recent decades and its projected continuation. Increasing global temperatures will cause sea level to rise, and is expected to increase the intensity of extreme weather events. Other effects of global warming include changes in agricultural yields, trade routes, glacier retreat, species extinctions and increases in the ranges of disease. One study predicts 18% to 35% of a sample of 1,103 animal and plant species would be extinct by 2050, based on future climate projections.
There are a few things we can do to decrease the effects. We can help by using less energy. The electricity that operates many of the devices in our homes comes from a power plant, and most power plants burn fossil fuels to generate that power. Turn off lights when they’re not in use. Take shorter showers to use less hot water. Use a fan instead of an air conditioner on a warm day. Make sure your car is properly tuned up. This allows it to run more efficiently and generate fewer harmful gases. Turn lights and other appliances off when you’re not using them. Even though a light bulb doesn’t generate greenhouse gas, the power plant that generates the electricity used by the light bulb probably does. Switch from incandescent light bulbs to fluorescent bulbs, which use less energy and last longer. Walk or ride your bike if possible, or carpool on your way to work. Walk or ride your bike if possible, or carpool on your way to work.I guess we all can do a bit from our side to save this beautiful planet where we live in.
If you cannot do or find it difficult to implement in your life, you can do your part by going GREEN and Plant trees as many as possible.
