Recently I came across an article which confirmed a fact I used to believe in. The article that I am talking about can be found here Why Google must Die. This talks about how Google is manipulating its search results.
Google has always been known to do things differently, well the search engine giant has done things differently even with its most popular and powerful tool Google Search. The manipulation of the search results have been noticed by many users and it’s been happening since a lot time. Google Search results would differ for two users sitting in two different locations (even before Google started localizing as per location).
Imagine if you were looking for something important and got just dummy pages or pages which would sell services related to the information which you require. How frustrating is that?? There are websites which offer the correct information but they never get listed on Google because these websites focus on providing only the correct information and don’t go about spending a fortune to get their website search engine optimized. The other websites who don’t have the complete information or they want to sell their services to you employ professional companies to do SEO on their website. Search Engine Optimization (SEO) ensures that your website if optimised correctly would list top on search engines for specific keywords.
I would advise to use an alternate search engine if you were looking something on the internet and wanted to get the correct answers/websites.
